Mercury Retrograde in Gemini and Mindfulness

Mercury Retrograde in Gemini and Mindfulness

I run a free group on Facebook where the members are able to express themselves and ask questions in a less public space. Louise Edington’s Cosmic Connections (please join us if you are not already a member) is an active community and I get some quite deep questions in there. As we wane to the New Moon in Taurus and Mercury stations to turn retrograde in Gemini a member posted the following. “When have we not been asked to slow down and do inner work, really? I am finding that starting to cause me turmoil as I have daily work to accomplish and now I am battling my mind to be productive and do my inner work. We can’t stop tasks that drive our businesses, so help us recognize what’s a balance of slow down and still not close our doors. I am truly battling how to shift from slowing down and dealing with inner to the pace needed to consistently move forward in business. We are such complex beings and I am feeling overwhelmed with fact I’d like to work on ONE at a time.”   Of course this sparked my own inner review process and this blog post was birthed. What IS the message of this retrograde period? I have had my usual Mercury Retrograde rant about working with the energies and not fearing it in my Mercury Retrograde in Gemini post. I also say that life can’t stop for something that happens 3 and sometimes 4 times a year. No, we can’t stop doing the tasks that drives our businesses and lives. That would just be...

Mercury Retrograde in Gemini

Mercury Retrograde I barely dare utter those words as I expect the moans and groans to start. We entered the ‘shadow’ yesterday as Mercury reached 4° 33′ of Gemini which is the degree that Mercury will return to during the retrograde period. Not that the planet actually turns backwards, this is apparant backward motion from our perspective. The trickster actually stations to turn retrograde on the 18th and 19th May right after the next New Moon. I shall be talking about this on my New Moon Intention Call on Friday May 8. If you would like to join me please register here for call details and to receive the recording. The first thing I want to say is DO NOT BE AFRAID! All the planets go retrograde and Mercury goes retrograde three (and occasionally four) times a year. It’s a phenomenom to work with rather than resist and fear. It has a purpose. Mercury rules communication, motion, activity, cars/transportation and mechanics, the internet, information, contracts, writing and speaking. And siblings. All of these areas are up for review, reflection, redoing, re-organizing and rethinking. And in Gemini, which Mercury rules, this is likely to be powerful. And I mean that in a positive way! Use this time to look at things a little differently and it’s highly likely that you will receive some important inner revelations. It’s a time of heightened mental awareness, a time to go within and rethink a few things. It’s not the time to communicate the revelations outwardly perhaps, as communications are clouded. Things may be misheard. By both you and others. Slow down and pay attention...

Mercury Retrograde and Travel: Who Thought THAT Was A Good Idea?

Who thought it would be a good idea to travel during Mercury retrograde? Last Mercury retrograde I went on the High School Orchestra field trip to California with my eldest daughter and the bus buses technology gradually break down as we got closer to the heat of California. The heating stuck on and the kids were just melting. I bought two big boxes of Popsicles to cool the kids down when we stopped to dismantle the heating system. Oh and the Wi-Fi didn’t work either on the bus.   So you would think this astrologer may have learned her lesson. But you would be wrong. We just went to California again during Mercury retrograde. In my defense the trip was arranged around an Anime Expo that my teens went to so little control over the dates. But, still……….   This time the journey there was uneventful. When we got to the hotel we had booked things began to go wrong. We had gone cheaper than we usually do to try and cut costs on the trip but we had carefully checked reviews. Clearly, those that had left reviews were friends of the owners or completely deluded as most recommended it and said they would stay again.. The hotel was disgusting. One of the walls in the room was painted this horrible dark red which we said was to hide the blood. The carpet was badly stained and the non smoking rooms smelled badly of cigarette smoke. The guy in the room next-door thought smoking outside meant standing IN the doorway and holding his hand outside. I think you get...
