Follow Your Heart: Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius 2017

Follow Your Heart: Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius 2017

I’ve been sitting with the Lunar Eclipse chart for ages now (and the Solar Eclipse chart but more on that later). I like to find a central theme that encompasses the whole and it was right there on the wall of my office. The simple sign that cost me a few bucks at TJ Maxx to honor my 15 year old soul part that I have been reintegrating since a soul retrieval session with my friend and Shamanic teacher, Paula, back in January 2015 when I was going through a real dark night of the soul. Follow Your Heart. Sounds so easy right? But we get so tied up in the mind fucks. The constant voices from your upbringing. The family, the culture, the institutions. Those voices in your head that say you don’t fit in because those mind fucks don’t feel right. The constant contorting of the self to fit in or to loudly say, ‘I’m different’. The pain of that 15 year old soul part is back today. Shamanic work keeps working, if you allow it. That girl that knew how unique she was, as we all are, yet who desperately wanted to belong. Isn’t that what we all want? The message of this eclipsing of our emotional body is clear. It’s time to let go of (south node and Full Moon) or eclipse all those mind fucks from your lineage. All those messages that are not yours. It’s time to let go of the need to set yourself apart, to hold yourself aloof, because of the fear of opening your heart and truly following your heart’s...
Lilith and Your Inner Wild Woman

Lilith and Your Inner Wild Woman

In a Mentoring Circle I am a member of I was invited to make a Community SoulCollage© to help me to identify MY inner wild woman. My Lilith. She has been wanting to be heard more and more. I was also asked who I admire so I could begin to articulate what being a wild woman is for me. I’m not big into hero worship so couldn’t immediately name a person. But then I thought about it - a lot. Admire doesn’t have to mean love every part of them. Lilith in your chart represents your inner wild woman and in MY chart she is right next to (conjunct) my natal Gemini Moon. In the sign of the voice, the writer, the teacher. And in the house system I use most commonly, Porphry, she is in the Fifth house of children, the inner child, joy, drama and creativity.  You will see why this is important as you read on. For the purposes of this I am using Black Moon Lilith, the most commonly used Lilith in Astrology. Though I am exploring the other Liliths. Right now though it is Black Moon Lilith that is speaking to me. Lilith, in Hebrew tradition, was the first wife of Adam, who left Eden because she refused to lie under Adam. There is a lot more to the myth, of course, and you can read more about her in various places but I give you one example from ‘Where Does the Legend of Lilith Come From?’. And to I give you this quote from Living Lilith by M.Kelly Hunter. Lilith spoke to her through...

Summer Solstice 2013

As we approach the summer solstice of 2013 I am drawn to remember the solstice of the year 2000.That year the solstice was at 2.48pm GMT on the 21st. A short time after this I woke up in labor with my second child. I had a magical (yes really) labor. I labored all day at home with only a TENS machine, a couple of puffs of Gas and Air and a birthing pool for pain relief. I walked around our English garden stopping to lean on my husband every now and then when I had a contraction. I ate some homemade soup when I felt a little peckish. It was truly magical. Alice Victoria was born in the birthing pool at 5.05pm. The birds were singing outside the window and I could hear the kids playing next door. Her second name is Victoria after my Grandfather, Victor, whose birthday was also June 21st. He died many years before but it seemed to be fitting that she carries his name. Why do I tell you this on the eve of this solstice? I want to talk about how I felt that day. I was not an ideal candidate for a home birth, apparently. I was 40. My first pregnancy had ended in induction, an epidural, forceps and a baby that had to be given oxygen before I could hold her. This time I was determined to have no intervention. I learned all I could about the birth process. First time round I had relied upon the medical profession to teach me this. They didn’t. I withheld small niggles from my...
