Astrology: Venus Square Neptune July 27 2020: Illusory Desires

Astrology: Venus Square Neptune July 27 2020: Illusory Desires

After some fits and starts since the publication of my second book, The Complete Guide to Astrology, I FINALLY feel like writing again! Incidentally, I have a give away running on my Cosmic Owl Astrology Facebook page for a signed. copy of my book (USA only) or 5 runner up prizes of an Audible copy. Head on over there to enter after you read this :). I will be drawing the winners on the Full Moon on August 3rd. I can’t keep up writing daily energy posts any more because of time so I am going to experiment to find my new stride. Writing is like a muscle, the more you write, the more you write so please bear with me. Today I am going to write about the third exact square of Venus in Gemini to Neptune in Pisces at the 20˚ mark. This third and final square exacts on July 27th and the first two squares were on May 3rd (both planets direct) and May 20th (Venus Rx). On this third exact square, Neptune is Rx. Venus in Gemini is all about our relationships to community and each other. It’s a fun and sociable placement but Mercurial in nature due to Gemini being ruled by Mercury. This period of Venus in Gemini has Venus retrograding from May 13th to June 25th for the first time in eight years and has meant that we’ve been reflecting on our values in relationship to each other and community. Neptune rules Pisces and is all about illusion, faith, trust, surrender and brings confusion and disorientation. We’ve been through a VERY confusing...
Astrology of the Full Wolf Moon 1/1/2018 at 11˚ Cancer

Astrology of the Full Wolf Moon 1/1/2018 at 11˚ Cancer

Astrology of the Full Wolf Moon 1/1/2018 (2nd in some parts of the world) at 11˚ Cancer Time to howl at the Moon On New Year’s Day here in the USA’s wonderful West (it will be on the 2nd on the East Coast and beyond), there is a deeply emotional and powerful Full Moon. And it’s all the 1’s and 11’s. First day of the first month in a universal 11/2 year at 11˚ and 37’ — and 3+ 7 = 1. So, that’s a 1/1/11 at 11.1. And the Full Moon is aspecting Neptune in Pisces at 11˚. And it’s a Supermoon. And she is in her own sign, Cancer, adding to the power. Holy guacamole! What a way to start the calendar year!. Cancer is a water sign and is nurturing, sensitive, responsive, insecure and moody. The exact trine to Neptune in Pisces bringing in psychic sensitivity, mysticism imagination, more hypersensitivity and escapism. A wide trine to Mars and Jupiter in Scorpio adding emotional depth and complexity, obsession, and intensity to the alchemic pot. Also in the crucible of this Full Moon is the fact that a Full moon IS an opposition and this one is opposite to, not only the Sun in Capricorn, but also Venus, Lilith, Saturn and Pluto. The divine feminine presence of Venus and Lilith sandwiched between the core energy of the Sun, the transformative presence of Pluto and the mastery of Saturn in his own sign. Mix this all in the alchemical crucible of astrology and this gives us a POWERFUL kite configuration with the focal planet of the Kite being the Sun and it’s close...

Muddling Through The Wonk

Well wonk is maybe not a word but it’s my new word. I was chatting with a friend about how the universe is so wonky right now with the Grand Cross of April 2014 building. And it feels perfect for the energies right now so wonk is my new word. Though the dictionary defines wonk as ‘a studious or hardworking person.’ so let’s say I have redefined wonk. Or use wonkiness if these things matter to you.   Now I want you all to just look at that first paragraph. For me the energy of it it feels like the current planetary energies. Redefining, breaking free of the accepted rules. A time of huge transformations and, well, wonk - or wonkiness.   Things feel challenging. There are a lot of global happenings and undercurrents but I want to talk more about the wonk within. The thing about the current energies is that they are bringing huge internal tensions. Coming up we have a Lunar Eclipse on the 15th April, the Cardinal Grand Cross is at it’s most exact on the 22nd April (though it dominates the whole month in reality) and a Solar Eclipse on the 29th April.   These energies have been rumbling and brewing since 2012 as the Pluto/Uranus square that forms the crux of this Grand Cross has been going on since then and this will be the fifth of seven exact squares between the two heavy hitters. I’m actually not going to bore you with all the astrology in this post. For more detail on that and what in means on a weekly basis you...

The Age Of The Crone

The Crone is also an archetypal figure, a Wise Woman. She is marginalized by her exclusion from the reproductive cycle,[1] and her proximity to death places her in contact with occult wisdom. As a character type, the crone shares characteristics with the hag.~ Wikipedia Aging. It happens to us all. Women all inevitably move into the age of the Crone.   We’re born, we grow, we learn, we teach, we shrink, we die.   It’s a part of the human experience.   As a woman we move into the age of the Crone as we pass through menopause. Our body changes, our mind changes. It’s a major life shift. For me it has also been a major spiritual shift.   Under the Patriarchy the age of the Crone has for too long been marginalized. Often portrayed as malicious or sinister.   In Wicca she symbolizes ‘the Dark Goddess, the dark of the moon, the end of a cycle’ and in some ‘New Age’ circles this is portrayed as a time of freedom, wisdom and personal power. (Wikipedia). And we all have her within us, men and women.   I’m 53. Very much in Menopause. My cycles have ended and my reproductive years have gone. I now not only feel my body changing I also feel my soul and spirit changing. And the messages I am receiving are to embrace and to celebrate this time.   In an astrological reading from a mentor I am reminded to become the elder and to teach the wisdom I have gleaned. In a dream I buried my child self, although I was actually...

The Royal Baby: The Little Prince

I wasn’t planning on ever blogging about ‘celebrity’ charts but I am a Brit and I love babies and, well, the Royal Babies chart is pretty ah-mazeballs.   The little Prince was born at 4.24pm in Kensington, London on the 22nd July 2013. This make his sun sign Cancer by only 1 minute. Nevertheless this IS Cancer though at this degree he will possess traits from both signs. A caring leader -  fabulous. He not only has his sun in Cancer but also Mercury, Jupiter and Mars and this group of planets are connected in a fabulous water Grand Trine with Saturn and Neptune. He also has Capricorn moon and Scorpio rising.   I haven’t had time to go through the family charts to write this but his Father, William is Cancer Sun and Moon, his Grandmother Diana was also Cancer. His mother, Catherine, has Cancer moon and is a Capricorn and Prince Charles is a Scorpio. He is definitely OF this family and his nuclear family will be tightly bonded with these close connections and all that home loving, caring Cancer energy.   I don’t have time in a short blog post to go into all the astrology and most of you are not interested in the detail anyway. So let’s talk about him. As I said he will be a very caring leader and deeply spiritual. He will be a deeply private person like his father and stunningly attractive. His need for privacy could almost border on paranoia as his rising sign will give him a great need to control his environment. It will, however also give...
