I’m a greenie at heart. I recycle. I use green cleaning products. I try to plant native plants that don’t use too much water here in the High Desert. I would like to install solar panels. I am planning on buying a water butt and collecting rain water. We paid money to well insulate our home. I buy mostly organic. I try to be kind to the earth.
And I am a humanitarian, a supporter of equality and a healer.
But I am not perfect. I could do more. My one extra act so far for this Earth Day is to order some free seeds to plant wildflowers that bees love. I would post the link so you could also order but unfortunately the promotion has ended. But there are several suggestions on this page of the Earth Day site. Or you could donate or sign up as a volunteer activist. I am considering it.
But this post is not about beating myself up for not doing enough.
This post is about how the astrology is pulling us to do more.
And about the Dalai Lama. And his, now famous, quote.
“The World Will Be Saved By the Western Woman”
And the slogan for Earth Day 2015
“It’s Our Turn To Lead”
And why the astrology points to this call.
It’s Our Turn To Lead.
Firstly, I do understand that what the Dalai Lama meant by ‘western woman’ has not been quantified. And this in itself is the subject of some debate! But I just don’t want to go down that rabbit hole today.
Let’s just say, for the sake of argument, and the fact that this is an astrology related blog, that Black Moon Lilith is the western woman.
Lilith is the repressed feminine that has been kept down by patriarchal contructs and structures. She is where you stand your ground with confidence and determination but also where there is an inability to let go gracefully and without bitterness. Lilith gives you the ability to make difficult decisions and to follow them through with confidence. Some Astrologer’s consider Lilith to be connected to the Tree of Life, where one can accept a deeper truth and greater wisdom. Lilth demands absolute equality and truth. She challenges you to connect with your deep life passion and your spiritual destiny.
I am using the mean Black Moon Lilith for those that are interested.
Lilith is, for me, the archetypal feminist.
Incidentally she is also aspecting my natal Lilith and Moon in Gemini wjich is why I feel SO very drawn to teach what I see happening right now.
And now, during the week of this Earth Day, she is at the focal point of a kite configuration. I stripped out other planets and bodies in this chart to highlight the parts I wanted to show.
Firstly, at 4 o’clock on the chart, we have Pluto in earth sign, Capricorn. Pluto has been drilling into the structures of the patriarchy for some time now, and will continue to do so. He is bringing to light the shadow, that which no longer serves us.
Then, at the top of the chart, we have Mercury and Mars in earthy Taurus, the sign that most represents Mother Earth. Mercury is communication and learning. And Mars is our will and our drive.
At 7 o’clock we have Lilith in the other earth sign Virgo. And the word Virgo, or virgin, means one who is whole unto herself’. And Virgo is the sign of service, mentoring and healing/health.
Thiese three placings are forming an Earth Grand Trine.
But then we also have Chiron in Pisces right at the opposite pint to Lilith. Bringing in the collective unsconscious wound. And messages from spirit.
Lilith is the focal point.
And the angry, kundalini, non compromising, deeply feminine, untamed, divine, creative life force that has been kept down in women for 2000+ years of patriarchy is called to heal (the Grand Trine) Mother Earth.
To take the lead.
Not to overpower. This is not about a patriarchy replacing the patriarchy and stomping all over men.
It’s about taking back and standing in our power.
We need women to stand up and lead. In small ways and big ways. We must be prepared to wield power for the good of the collective. We must bring our whole selves to every table and speak uncompromising truth.
And Western women, generally, have more freedom to do so.
We can save the world.
So, I ask you, how are you going to bring your whole self to the table? How are you going to live your Lilth and help to save the world?
One of my ways is to use my voice and write. And that damn has burst. The waters of my writing are flowing.
